Our first DIY Recipe which is incredibly simple and cheap to make is for Deodorant. Most deodorants contain one or more of the following carcinogens:
ALUMINUM:
PROPYLENE GLYCOL.
FRAGRANCE (PHTHALATES)
Since most of us use deodorant every day, I thought this was a good place to start. Besides it is so simple. In another blog I will show you one that is a little more complex which means I know you are less likely to do it and I want you to change your bad deodorant habit to move in the direction of a cleaner, safer solution.
You will need a small bowl, whisk and measuring cups. Here are the ingredients:
1/3 cup coconut oil – melted
¼ cup baking soda
¼ cup arrowroot
4 T cornstarch
5-10 drops of Essential Oil, I prefer Lavender and Tea tree
Melt the coconut oil and then whisk in all of the other ingredients…..put in a jar an VOILA!!!
You just made yourself an effective, non toxic, clean deodorant.
ENJOY!!!
